The Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply is a flexible PSU with three high-performance outputs of equal power (105W) all of which are able to provide 35V at 3A.
For a brief introduction to the Aim-TTi MX Series of Multi-Output DC Power Supplies, please see the following video.
Outputs
As mentioned above, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply includes three independent and isolated outputs of equal power. Each of these channels is able to support CI and CV operation, OVP/ OCP trips, high-resolution metering and switchable remote sensing.
Range switching facilitates the PSU’s ability to provide 70V/3A. Additionally, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s multiple range combinations provide maximum flexibility. For an overview of the ranges available for each of the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs, please see the following table.
Output 1 | Output 2 | Output 3 | |
Range 1 | 35V/3A | 35V/3A | 35V/3A |
Range 2 | 16V/6A | 16V/6A | 70V/1.5A |
Range 3 | - | 35V/6A* | 70V/3A* |
Note | * = subject to another output being disabled (shared power mode) |
Additionally, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply includes a Shared Power mode which combines the outputs internally to provide a total power output of up to 210W as either 35V/6A or 70V/3A via a single channel.
Mixed-Mode Regulation
Also contributing to the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s impressive power density is its mixed-mode regulation which combines high-frequency switch-mode pre-regulation with linear post-regulation. Mixed-mode regulation provides a performance close to that of an all-linear PSU.
In addition to excellent line and load regulation, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply has a good transient response and low noise.
Voltage Tracking
As each of the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs is independent and isolated, it can support voltage tracking. This means that the voltage on one channel automatically tracks the voltage of another channel. As a result, the user is able to set equal voltages of the same or opposite polarity and/or can adjust multiple voltage outputs by changing the potential difference on the master channel (provided the outputs have been wired in series or parallel).
OVP and OCP Trips
In addition to voltage tracking, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s channels are able to support a number of other features including variable over-voltage and over-current trips which will switch off the output when triggered and provide a different level of protection.
Current Meter Averaging
The Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s channels can also support current meter averaging which displays an average reading based on several measurements. This is particularly useful when measuring rapidly changing loads as it stabilises the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s display thereby reducing the speed and degree of variation.
High Setting Resolution
Further to this, to ensure that voltage and current parameters for each of the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs can be set accurately, the setting and meter display indicates five digits and has a resolution of 1mV or 0.1mA.
Easy to Use
The user can set the voltage and current parameters for each channel using either an illuminated keypad or a control knob. The illuminated keypad also provides access to other settings and functions using the menu system.
Once the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s settings have been set, the user can press the Lock button to secure the front panel thereby preventing accidental alteration. Alternatively, the front panel can be secured using password-protection thereby preventing accidental and unauthorised alteration; this method is particularly useful when integrating the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply into a fixed system.
Data for all the channels is indicated via the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s large, graphic display simultaneously.
Individual Output Display
When the Display mode is activated, the data for the specified channel is shown in larger digits. This mode also allows the user to view and alter the range, OCP, OVP, current meter averaging and fifty setting stores for the selected output.
Setting Stores and Multi-Output Linked Memories
All three of the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s outputs include a fifty-point setting store for saving parameters such as ranges, OVP and OCP. As a result, settings can be recalled and implemented quickly.
In addition to this, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply includes a fifty-point setting store for saving multi-output settings.
On/Off Synchronism and Sequencing
Each of the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s channels includes a dedicated On/Off switch. The Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply also includes Multi-On and Multi-Off buttons. As default these buttons will activate or deactivate all three of the channels simultaneously, however, they may be programmed to engage or disengage specific channels in a defined order.
The Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply’s Multi-On and Multi-Off buttons are particularly useful when working on circuits that may be damaged if only one voltage rail is present or if voltage rails are not provided in the correct sequence.
Ergonomic
To ensure suitability for both bench and rack-mounted applications the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply is housed in a compact half-rack width by 3U high case. It takes up minimum bench space and up to two Aim-TTi MX100T PSUs can be mounted into a single rack space. Please note that an OPTIONAL rack mount kit for the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply is available, please call for details.
Moreover, as the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply features front input ventilation, additional space around the PSU is not required.
Furthermore, the Aim-TTi MX100T Triple-Output DC Power Supply is equipped with an intelligent fan controller for monitoring ambient temperature and power loading.
