Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator is a versatile, precise and economic waveform generator. It can create waveshapes over frequencies ranging from 0.03Hz to 3MHz. It maintains a constant amplitude as the frequency is varied, and offers a wide range of controlled amplitudes from a low-impedance source.

In addition to this, the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s voltage control facilitates frequency response testing, with or without modulation, as it enables a source of swept frequency to be generated.

Wide Sweep Range

Each of the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s ranges can be swept by at least 1000:1. They can be swept manually or via the external sweep input.

Wide Range Level Control

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s main output provides a maximum emf of 20V peak-to-peak from a 50Ω or 600Ω source. Additionally, it includes an amplitude Vernier with a 20dB range which, when combined with two switched attenuators (-20dB and -40dB), provides a minimum emf of 2mV peak-to-peak.

Via the centre detent control, the user can access a variable DC offset of ±10V. The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator also includes an auxiliary output that provides a fixed 0V to +5V level which can be used to drive TTL and CMOS loads.

Exceptional Waveform Quality

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator maintains good waveform quality throughout the frequency range and at low output levels. It can provide low sine wave distortion, low aberration triangle waves, and fast-edged square waves with low overshoot.

Variable Symmetry for Pulse and Ramp Waveforms

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s frequency is independent of its symmetry setting. It is able to provide bi-directional variable symmetry between 1:9 and 9:1.

Dual Digital Display

Via the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s dual-section digital display the user can view frequency and amplitude readings simultaneously.

RMS or Peak-to-Peak Amplitude Display

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s output level display can be set to show any of the following three parameters:

  • Peak-to-peak amplitude
  • RMS amplitude
  • DC offset

Accurate RMS Values for Each Waveform Shape

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator will automatically change the decimal points and units to ensure the true amplitude is displayed regardless of the attenuator setting.

Additionally, a display indicator warns the user of illegal combinations of offset and amplitude settings that would create clipping in the output stage.

Fast and Accurate Frequency Measurements

When measuring frequency at Hz or above, the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s auto-ranging reciprocal measurement provides a 4-digit resolution and rapid update. It has an accuracy of ±1Hz.

When measuring sub-Hz frequencies, the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator’s measurement mode is changed to provide readings with a 3-digit resolution. This maintains a fast update, although the accuracy is reduced. 

Nevertheless, the Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator offers better accuracy and faster display across its entire frequency range compared to fixed gate-time meters.

Suitable for Bench- and Rack-Mounted Applications

The Aim-TTi TG315 3MHz Function Generator is housed in a 2U high, heavy-duty ABS case with an integrated tilt stand. It can be mounted using an optional RM50 rack mount kit.
