***The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter is a completely configurable product. Please call for further details.***
The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter utilises ultrasound to measure the flow of portable water, wastewater, sewage, discharge water, treated water, cooling and heating water, irrigation water and a range of other industrial fluids in pipes of various sizes and materials. It is suitable for testing lined pipes and can be used with either clamp-on or wetted transducers to determine flow velocity and direction.
Utilising clamp-on transducers the operator can measure flow using a simple, non-invasive, clamp-on installation; the clamp-on transducers do not make contact with the liquid inside the pipe. The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter with clamp-on transducers can be installed in four easy steps:
1.) Install the straps onto the pipe-under-investigation
2.) Put the clamp-on fixture on the pipe and move the straps onto the side of the fixture
3.) Open the fixture to set the spacing
4.) Set the spacing and lock the fixture with the transducer onto the pipe
This easy installation method offers maximum flexibility and reduces installation costs. When used with clamp-on transducers, the Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter is able to provide an accuracy of 1% of the reading.
Alternatively, the Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter can be used with wetted transducers, suitable for cold-tap installations, which are placed within the pipe-under-investigation. These transducers make contact with the liquid being measured and so provide a higher accuracy; however, wetted transducers also increase installation costs and reduce the fixture’s flexibility.
The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter utilises Correlation Transit-Time™ technology to facilitate long-term, drift-free operation. Regardless as to which transducer style is utilised, both transducers in a pair serve as receivers and senders of ultrasonic acoustic pulses. Each transducer emits a specific number of acoustic pulses and receives the same number of pulses emitted by its partner transducer. The time between transmission and reception of the ultrasonic acoustic pulses is monitored in both directions.
If the liquid in the pipe is stagnant, the transit-time downstream is equivalent to the transit-time upstream. However, when the liquid is flowing the transit-time upstream is greater than the transit time downstream. The difference between the upstream and downstream transit times is proportional to the velocity of the flowing liquid and the sign indicates the direction in which the fluid is flowing.
The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter is simple- and easy-to-use. To this end, it features secure, simple access to the electronics and an intuitive menu. Its ability to adjust itself automatically in relation to changing fluid properties and its dynamically configured operating software ensure that the Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter can be programmed correctly and easily. If an error is detected the flow meter will indicate this via its red- and green-light health display.
As mentioned above, the Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter is simple-to-operate and can be installed in four easy steps (when used with clamp-on transducers); it may be left on the system to monitor liquid flow over a prolonged period of time without intervention or maintenance. To this end, the Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter features a compact, industrial, all-digital design with no moving parts and robust transducers; it is optimised to withstand prolonged installation in rugged environments.
The Panametrics AquaTrans™ AT600 Ultrasonic Liquid Flow Meter combines durable, innovative BHGE engineering with Panametric’s ultrasonic expertise to produce a dependable, easy-to-use and cost-effective ultrasonic liquid flow meter. It can be installed at the process measurement point and is optimised for water and wastewater applications in full pipes.
