Installing a couple of televisions in tricky places would probably take most of us a good while, but how long would it take you to do 450 of the things?

A firm contracted to install televisions in and around the Olympic Village found that out first hand this week. The company - named Hughes Electrical - managed to install all of the televisions in a day, ensuring that the new Olympic Village is fully hooked up (telly wise).

The televisions were installed in and around the Stratford area where the Olympic competitors are being housed. The tellies ranged in size from 19 inches all the way up to 500 inches, and are currently on hire from Hughes Electrical.

Hughes Electrical's sister site, Trade Electricals Direct has been closely involved with the Olympic project for the past two years and has handled over 15 different contracts.

Paul Chisnall of Trade Electricals Direct was very pleased with how it's all gone.

“That we have been so successful is a testimony to the skilled people we have within the Hughes Electrical Group and we can all watch the opening ceremony with a sense of deep pride." he said.

“Installing and commissioning 450 televisions at multiple locations in a single day was a massive achievement and one very, very few companies could have handled.”

So now the Olympians can all watch the Olympics when they're not taking part in Olympic events on their specially installed Olympic televisions. Nifty!
