As part of Gas Safety Week, Which? is asking people around the country to check their boilers, and to check any work carried out on boilers is by a Gas Safe Registered engineer.

As we outlined in our blog last week, Gas Safety Week will be taking place from the 10th-16th of September 2012, and is designed to promote the dangers of gas to the general public.

Which?, an independent body focused on  giving advice to consumers,  is hosting a Q and A session this week designed to give the public advice on boiler installations within the home. The session will see several experts from the Gas Safe Register discuss everything from boiler installation to gas safety, and will also be an opportunity for people to get their questions answered.

The event has also been designed to raise awareness amongst the public that any engineer carrying out work in gas should be Gas Safe Registered.

Which? executive director Richard Lloyd said: 'Botched boiler installations cost consumers money and, at the very worst, kill, so people should always find out if their gas fitter is Gas Safe Registered.'

The Q and A session will be taking place on Tuesday 11th September, from 12-2PM. Anybody interested in viewing the event should head on over to Which’s website.
