The Chauvin Arnoux MX604 is specially designed for use in the telecommunications sector and is used to test lighting arresters (both dismantled and in situ) and to verify the insulation resistance of telephone lines.
With the MX604, lighting arresters can be tested from 0 to 600V DC, insulation can be tested up to 2000MΩ with test voltages of 50, 100 and 500V DC and batteries can be tested with a 200mA continuity test. As standard the unit ships with a support module for testing dissassembled lighting arresters, plus a probe with integrated button for in-situ measurements.
Although tests will be performed on installations which are switched off, the MX604 is designed to ensure the user's safety by indicating voltage presence using a light indicator on the front of the tester.
