With a jaw opening that can stretch to 33 millimetres, the Chauvin Arnoux Y4N AC 4500A (05V DC)[L] is perfectly suited for taking measurements of AC current from a wide range of different wires. The maximum current measurement that this instrument can take is 600A of AC current, which it takes with a very high accuracy of 1%. The bandwidth for the current probes is 1kHz. 

The type of sensor that Chauvin Arnoux has designed for this product is a class and hall effect sensor. The peak pulse current (measured in A) is 600A of AC, whilst the output type is voltage rather than current. This gives off an output signal of 0.5V of DC. The transformation ratio for these current measurements is 500A to 0.5V.

This current probe weighs in at a mere 420g whilst having the following dimensions of 195 x 66 x 34 millimetres that help to make it compact and portable. The cable length attached to the instrument can reach up to 1.5 metres, making it easy for the user to get to those difficult places for measurements of AC current. The Chauvin Arnoux Y4N AC 4500A (05V DC)[L] has been tested and carries some of the best safety ratings, including having four levels of safety: CAT I, CAT II, CAT III and CAT IV. And it also has the following safety over voltage ratings: CAT III 600 V and CAT IV 300 V.
