About the FLIR Aerial First Responder Drone

For search and rescue, firefighting, law enforcement, security or anywhere else where a fast response is needed, you need equipment you can rely on. DJI and FLIR's first responder thermal drone gives you a new advantage from the skies, with dedicated thermal aerial support allowing you to react faster and take advantage of opportunities.

This drone can be used for a wide variety of applications ranging from scouring the countryside for people in need of rescue to providing aerial support around a burning property in firefighting applications.

What's Different for the Advanced Kit?

DJI/FLIR have three different versions of this drone available: the Basic Kit, the Advanced Kit and the Advanced Kit R.

Here's the basic difference between the three:

  • Basic Kit - entry-level bundle pack with smaller resolution and less included
  • Advanced Kit - expanded thermal resolution to 640 x 512 pixels, expanded temperature range and more included
  • Advanced Kit R - fully radiometric image analysis included (allows user to calculate temperature from every pixel in the image), with more included in the pack

This kit, the Advanced Kit, offers a number of benefits compared to the basic kit. The most obvious of these is upgraded standard thermal resolution - while the basic kit offers resolution of 336 x 256 pixels, the Advanced Kit expands this to 640 x 512 pixels, improving the level of detail in your thermal images.

It also has expanded temperature ranges with -25 to 135°C and -40 to 550°C ranges both available.

Enhanced Zenmuse XT Thermal Camera

With the power of FLIR's uniquely designed Zenmuse XT thermal camera, you'll be able to get high quality full thermal analysis from the air.

The camera seamlessly attaches to the DJI Inspire drone via the included gimbal system, giving you full, 360° control of your footage while in the air. Real-time footage is transmitted back to the included iPads, allowing you to make quick decisions and direct your team as needed.

Precision Control with the Inspire 1 Drone

Whether you're using the included visual camera or the included FLIR Zenmuse XT thermal camera, DJI's Inspire 1 drone will help you to see what you need to see and gives you precision control over your aerial surveys.

This powerful, easy-to-use drone seamlessly works with the included controller, iPad and the DJI Go app to provide you with real-time video footage of what the drone sees, while also giving you complete control over the drone's functionality.

The Inspire 1 is packed with functionality, including:

  • Aerodynamic, transforming design - powerful carbon fiber arms give you the ability to move through the air with ease and they move out of the way of the camera with the flick of a switch
  • Fully 360° field of view - control the camera's rotation directly using the controller or iPad hooked up to the DJI GO app
  • 13 inch quick release rotors with DJI's unique 'Z blade' design - exceptional performance with increased stability thanks to carbon fiber design
  • Curved magnets - fitting flush around the edge of each motor, these magnetcs eliminate air flow gaps and increase efficiency greatly

  • Automatic positioning updates - the Inspire 1 uses a high strength intelligent GLONASS + GPS system to determine the position of the drone. With fast satellite acquisition, the Inspire 1's position is easy to determine on a live map and makes it easy to pinpoint an area for the drone to hover over
  • Powerful main controller - intelligent 'brain' in the drone receives thousands of data bits every second and translates data into action when flying. This controller calculates environmental conditions in real time and ensures that your drone instantly responds to your commands
  • Stable IMU - built-in Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) handles the stability of the drone thanks to 6-axis gyroscope and accelerometer to monitor miniscule changes in both tilt and movement
  • Failsafe - all of the above features combine into a failsafe system. If the worst happens and your battery runs out or the connection with your remote drops, the Inspire 1 is clever enough to use its positioning system and smart flight technology to return back to you!
  • DJI Vision Positioning System - no GPS? You can take off and land the Inspire 1 at the touch of a button and even hover the drone with no GPS (ideal for indoor shots where satellite positioning may not be possible)
