Hold this detector near to a suspected voltage source to detect live voltage, then flip it round and use the built-in IR thermometer to measure temperature levels!
Two testers in one, the Extech DV40 is both a non-contact AC voltage detector and an infrared thermometer. It's a completely unique instrument that's ideal for checking electrical components etc for voltage presence and heating issues.
The voltage detector built-into the DV40 can detect AC voltage from 50V to 1000V. Once detected, the tip of the unit will start to glow with a red light to alert the user (the tip is also narrowed for insertion into outlets or against wire insulation).
To read IR temperature levels, simply hold the detector as close as possible to the source to measure temperature from -20 to 445°F (-30 to 230°C). Values can be measured in either Celsius or Fahrenheit and are shown on the small built-in screen on the detector's body. The IR thermometer also has fixed 0.95% emissivity (catering for 90% of surface applications) and 1:1 distance to target ratio.

Bought this volt stick to save on the overall postage price of my order.
Was very surprised how good it is.
