The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera is an infrared imager that functions as a non-contact elevated-skin-temperature screening tool. Non-contact temperature measurements and thermal imaging mean that staff and subjects can maintain compliance with social distancing regulations. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera can be integrated into an existing network or can be used to set up a standalone screening station.
Elevated skin temperature is often an indicator of fever, a common symptom of many illnesses. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera CANNOT diagnose illnesses; however, it can be used alongside body thermometers to identify people who might be ill and may need to self-isolate and/or undergo further medical testing. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera is US FDA approved for this purpose.
Thermal Imaging
The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera has an IR resolution of 640 x 480px. It can be purchased with either a 24° or 42° lens. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera’s thermal sensitivity and field-of-view vary depending on the selected lens; please see the table below for further details.
SKU | Title | Thermal Sensitivity | Field-of-View |
85901-0101 | FLIR A700-EST with 24° Lens | <40 mK @ 30°C/86°F | 24° × 18° |
85902-0101 | FLIR A700-EST with 42° Lens | <30 mK @ 30°C/86°F | 42° × 32° |
Thermal imagers only display heat; they do not show identifying features. This allows screening staff to view the degree and distribution of the subject’s body heat without compromising the subject’s privacy. Similarly, thermal images and personal information are not automatically saved.
Screen-EST Mode
The Screen-EST mode facilitates fast, accurate and reliable skin-temperature screening. It measures the subject’s skin temperature and compares it to the average skin temperature plus the user-specified tolerance, e.g. 36°C + 1°C. A PASS indicator is displayed on the connected monitor if the subject’s temperature is within the accepted range. If the subject’s body temperature exceeds the upper limit a FAIL indicator is displayed on the connected monitor and an audible alarm is triggered (via a web interface). Individuals who trigger the FAIL indicator and audible alert MUST have their temperatures verified using a body thermometer.
The average skin temperature is calculated accumulatively using the subjects’ temperature readings. This compensates for changing ambient conditions that occur naturally throughout the day. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera’s support for calibration with ambient drift compensation enables screening without a reference. The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera also supports blackbody compensation.
Furthermore, when set to Screen-EST mode, the FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera can measure temperatures between 15°C and 45°C to an accuracy of ±0.3°C.
FLIR Screen-EST Desktop Software
The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera is also compatible with FLIR’s Screen-EST Desktop Software and can be integrated into networks using this program.
When used with FLIR’s Screen-EST Desktop Software, the FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera automatically begins screening upon detection of a human face. Staff and the subject can view the screening process and see clear PASS/ FAIL indicators via the connected monitor improving efficiency and clarity. The subject’s skin temperature is also displayed on the monitor.
Individuals who trigger the FAIL indicator MUST have their temperature verified using a body thermometer.
Easy to Install
The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera also supports integration into third-party systems. To this end, it is compatible with RTSP for video and compliant with ONVIF, enabling support for standard security video management systems (VMS) and NVR solutions. It is also compatible with Modbus TCP, MQTT, and RESTful API for data transfer. RESTful API over XML or JSON enables integration into web services.
More practically, the FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera’s support for standard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections, as well as Power over Ethernet, facilitates single-cable installation. It also features multiple mounting points for connection to a tripod or permanent installation.
Finally, simple connections and an integrated web browser with an intuitive interface mean the FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera is simple to set up, while its limited ramp-up time means staff can begin screening quickly.
The FLIR A700-EST Fixed Mount Temperature-Screening Thermal Camera is an ergonomic, easy-to-use and effective non-contact screening tool that can be used to help prevent the potential spread of infection.
