The FLIR Duo Compact Dual Sensor Thermal Imager for Drones is a compact, cost-effective dual-sensor thermal camera optimised for use with personal drones. To this end, it is the same shape and size as traditional action cameras and is compatible with an array of MAVLink flight controllers and onboard flight systems due to the inclusion of a 5-26V DC input power range and phase polarity. This camera can be operated remotely and in real-time via its PWM function. Using PWM the user can start and stop video recording or streaming, as well as select Thermal, Visible, MSX® and PIP video streaming modes, and choose or alter imagery colour palettes. All these parameters can also be engaged or adjusted using the FLIR Duo Compact Dual Sensor Thermal Imager’s Bluetooth connectivity and FLIR’s mobile app.
As mentioned above, the FLIR Duo Compact Dual Sensor Thermal Imager features a Picture-in-Picture mode and an MSX® mode. These functions are made possible due to the inclusion of a Lepton thermal sensor (160 x 120 pixels) and a 2-megapixel colour camera. The user is able to choose between the thermal sensor and colour camera whilst the imager is airborne.
FLIR’s unique MSX® mode combines images captured by the colour camera and thermal imager in real-time, thereby providing the user with a detailed, clear thermal image.
Media captured using the FLIR Duo Compact Dual Sensor Thermal Imager can be saved onto the microSD card. Thermal videos are recorded in a MOV format.
It is possible to output live videos via either an analogue output, using a ten-pin mini-USB connector, or digital output, using a ten-pin micro-HDMI.
