FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 High-Res Thermal & Visible Light Imager for Drones Details

The FLIR Duo™ Pro R336 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager for Drones is compact and has a thermal sensor resolution of 336x256 pixels and a temperature range of -10 to 140 ºC based on low gain mode. The models listed in the drop-down selection differ with regard to their thermal lens; please see the table below for further information.

These cameras have been optimised for use with airframes and can be easily integrated to MAVLink- compatible flight controllers as a result of their wide power input range (5-26V DC). Once attached the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager expands the airframe’s scope-for-use as it can be utilised for high-performance drone applications.

Each of these thermal and visible light imagers contains a thermal sensor and high-definition 4K colour video camera, facilitating the simultaneous capture and recording of thermal and visible data whilst the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 is airborne.  

Using PWM the user can select between several video streaming modes whilst the camera is in flight. Using this function the user can choose between the following imaging modes:

  • Thermal
  • Visible
  • Picture-In-Picture (PIP)
  • FLIR’s exclusive MSX®: this blends thermal and visible images to create a detailed video/picture (for use in daylight)

PWM can also be used to initiate or halt recording, take still images and adjust imagery colour palettes. Alternatively, recording and control settings can be altered via Bluetooth using FLIR’s UAS mobile app, whilst its field-upgradability ensures that the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 can always be equipped with the latest features.  

In addition to recording videos and capturing images, the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager also includes a live analogue and digital video output, facilitated by a micro-HDMI.

Further to its image/video capture and recording capabilities, this versatile camera can also be used to create sky-view maps and 3D models. Its integrated GPS-receiver, IMU, temperature, humidity and altitude sensors allow the user to accurately geotag each image in order to create accurate maps and 3D models. These sensors and the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336’s geotagging capabilities also help to eliminate the data loss and latency which occurs when attempting to integrate imagers into external flight control systems.

The FLIR Duo™ Pro R 336 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager is therefore ideal for professional drone operators and is suitable industrial, commercial and public safety drone applications.
