FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Res Thermal & Visible Light Imager for Drones Details

The FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager for Drones is available in the three models listed in the drop-down selection. These models vary with regards to the size of their thermal lens; please see the table below for further details.

Each of these compact thermal and visible light cameras has a thermal sensor resolution of 640x512 pixels. Further to this, each model contains a thermal sensor as well as a 4K colour video camera; both of these instruments help to facilitate this product's ability to simultaneously gather thermal and visual light data. Based on low gain mode these cameras have a temperature range of  -10 to 140 ºC. In addition to this, the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 features FLIR’s exclusive MSX® image blending. This image function combines thermal imaging with visual light imaging to enhance the details of each thermal image/video.

Other imaging modes available on the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager are:

  • Visual
  • Thermal
  • Picture-In-Picture (PIP)

The user is able to switch between each of these modes whilst the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 is in flight by using PWM inputs. This operating system can also be used to begin and end recording, take still images and alter colour imagery palettes. Alternatively, by using Bluetooth and FLIR's UAS mobile app the user can also change and configure the above control and recording settings.  

In addition to all these functions (which can be continually updated using FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640’s field-upgradability), the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager has two live video outputs, analogue and digital, both of which are facilitated by a micro-HDMI.

Moreover, this thermal and visible light imager can be used to create maps and 3D models from an aerial platform. This is due to its integrated GPS-receiver, IMU, temperature, humidity and altitude sensors. Another advantage of this product’s integrated GPS-receiver and its multitude of sensors is that it can be used to accurately geotag each image, removing the need to integrate this camera with external flight control systems thereby eradicating the data loss, latency and complexity which accompanies this process.

Finally, the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager has been optimised for use with airframes. It has a wide power input range (5-26V DC) and can be integrated with MAVLink-compatible flight controllers. This makes the FLIR Duo™ Pro R 640 High-Resolution Thermal and Visible Light Imager ideal for professional, high-performance commercial, industrial and public safety drone applications.
