The FLIR E53 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is the simplest model in FLIR’s EXX-series of Advanced Thermal Imaging Cameras. It has an infrared resolution of 240 x 180 pixels and a temperature range of -20°C to +650°C. Further to this, its 24° lens ensures that this thermal camera is able to detect temperature differences as slight as 0.04°C.
This combination of high-resolution infrared detectors; a vast temperature range and the ability to detect small temperature differences means that this camera is ideally suited to locating electrical and/or mechanical faults in equipment. It is able to pinpoint hotspots and therefore identify failing components.
Moreover, the FLIR E53 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera includes an improved spot-size performance allowing the operator to take accurate measurements of smaller areas from a greater distance.
Thermal images are viewable on the IR camera’s vibrant LCD screen which includes 43 200 pixels, this design combined with the high-resolution of the IR detectors ensures that the images captured are crisp, clear and detailed. Their precision can be improved using the MSX® image enhancement function which allows the user to add greater depth and detail to the image.
Images captured and edited using the FLIR E53 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera can be saved to the instrument. Saved media can be easily located on the camera using the fast-response touchscreen with an intuitive user interface, or using the practically placed menu buttons optimised for single-hand operation. Moreover, the new folder and naming structure also improves the speed with which the user may locate his/her images.
Adding to this product’s convenience is its rugged, pistol-grip design and its ability to be used with other products. It can be connected to mobile devices using Wi-Fi and may also be connected to FLIR clamps and multimeters via METERLiNK®, allowing users, or teams of users, to conduct inspections with greater efficiency.
The FLIR E53 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is ideal for predictive maintenance applications. It is able to locate electrical and/or mechanical faults by identifying differences in temperature. In this way, it can help to prevent/ limit detrimental impacts on production and, more seriously, prevent the outbreaks of fires or explosions.
