The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera with Wi-Fi is an upgraded version of the FLIR E5 Thermal Imaging Camera. This infrared imager features an extended temperature range, -20°C to +400°C, and an improved IR resolution, 160 x 120 pixels. Like its predecessor it can be used to inspect buildings and electrical and mechanical systems; it is of particular use to those carrying out predictive maintenance.

Ergonomic

The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera retains the E5’s portable, simple-to-operate design. The user is able to navigate and access the infrared camera’s settings, imaging modes and measurement tools via a minimalist button interface and intuitive menus. Moreover, this camera is completely automatic and focus-free, adding to its ease of operation.

The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera’s lightweight design ensures that it is suitable for prolonged usage; whilst its robust construction (drop-tested from 2m) makes it ideal for use on rugged sites.

Thermal Technology

The FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera includes a number of imaging functions and features that allow the user to capture the footage and temperature readings most relevant to his/her application. The user can choose from black and white, iron, and rainbow colour palettes, as well as the following imaging modes:

  • Picture-in-Picture: allows the user to view a point-of-interest on the image without losing the overall field-of-view (45° x 34°)
  • MSX®: overlays a digital image onto the thermal image enhancing the picture’s detail
  • Digital Camera: the FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera is equipped with an integrated 640 x 480-pixel digital imager
  • Thermal blending

Images are recorded in a JPEG format and included embedded temperature data; this means that they can be easily shared with relevant persons. 

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Thermal images may be sent to a compatible smartphone or tablet with the FLIR Tools App downloaded via the FLIR E5-XT Thermal Imaging Camera’s integrated Wi-Fi interface. Once downloaded to the FLIR Tools App, the user is able to edit and analyse the images, as well as create thermography reports.

Reports created in the FLIR Tools App can be sent to relevant persons from the user’s smartphone or tablet thereby improving work efficiency and facilitating collaborative decisions without the thermographer having to leave the field.   

Alternatively, it is possible to download images to a PC via a USB interface.
