FLIR AutoCal Lenses

There are seven versions of the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera available; these vary in regards to their lenses. Please see the table below for further information.

Each of the FLIR’s AutoCal Lenses is optimised for a different purpose:

  • 14°, 29mm lens: a telephoto lens with a narrow field-of-view facilitating precise focus and crisp imaging of distant targets
  • 24°, 17mm lens: provides a 24° x 18° FOV allowing the user to remain at a safe distance from energised equipment whilst providing a crisp focus when viewing smaller targets
  • 42°, 10mm lens: this wide-angle lens provides a large FOV allowing the user to gather maximum information in a single image; this is ideal when inspecting buildings and roofs

FLIR’s AutoCal Lenses are interchangeable. The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera automatically recognises which lens is attached and will auto-calibrate to deliver high-quality images and precise thermal measurements.

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also includes a selection of focus modes including Continuous Laser Distance Meter (LDM), One-Shot LDM, One-Shot Contrast, and Manual.

Thermal Imaging

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera has an IR resolution of 320x240px, providing 76 800 measurement points. It also has a thermal sensitivity of 30mk (at 30°C with 42° lens). It can measure temperatures to an accuracy of ±2°C/2% and includes the following temperature ranges:

  • -20°C to +120°C
  • 0°C to +650°C

The user can increase the thermal resolution to include 307 200 measurement points using the UltraMax Enhancement function. This function captures a series of radiometric thermal images in quick succession which are then combined using an UltraMax® algorithm and compatible FLIR analysis software to produce a more detailed image without compromising the radiometric data. This is particularly useful when analysing small components and improves the distance-to-spot ratio, thereby improving greater measurement accuracy when inspecting small or distant objects.

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also includes an MSX® Image Enhancement function which overlays visual details onto thermal images to improve image depth and clarity, making it easier for the user to identify the source of faults. Visual images are captured using an integrated 5MP visual camera with a fixed focus and LED light.

In addition to the UltraMax Enhancement and MSX® functions, the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera includes a 1-4x continuous digital zoom, three spotmeters (in live mode), and three area meters (in live mode).

Furthermore, the user can save images and videos with a GPS tag, voice annotations and/or on-screen text. He/she can also sketch onto thermal images via the touchscreen display. These features allow the user to build reports on the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera. This camera is also compatible with FLIR’s Thermal Studio (included) and Thermal Studio Pro (NOT included) analysis and reporting software.

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is supplied with an 8GB SD card to which the user can save radiometric, IR and visual images and footage. Radiometric images are saved as JPEG files. It is also possible to stream radiometric, IR and visual footage.

Communication Interfaces & METERLiNK Compatibility

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera supports USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and DisplayPort interfaces. The user can share images and footage with relevant people via Wi-Fi as he/she can connect to a smartphone or tablet.

In addition to this, the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera is also METERLiNK compatible allowing it to connect with other FLIR tools such as clamps and multimeters. Data collected using these tools can be saved alongside thermal footage and images.

Ergonomic Design

Saved files can be located and recalled easily due to the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera’s simple folder and naming structure. The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera also features an intuitive user interface, practically placed menu buttons, and a fast-responding touchscreen display with a 640x480px resolution to improve its ease-of-use. Moreover, its pistol-shaped design means it can be operated using one hand.

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera has been drop-tested from 3m (6.6ft) and has a typical battery life of over 2.5 hours.

Inspection Route Camera Function

The FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera features FLIR’s exclusive Inspection Route Camera function that guides the user through a pre-defined inspection route, allowing him/her to gather images and data at specified inspection points which are automatically organised by the FLIR E76 Advanced Thermal Imaging Camera. This function is ideal for thermographers that perform a large number of inspections regularly. It can be used to simplify reporting and improves inspection efficiency and organisation.

The user can design inspection routes using the Route Creator Plug-in for FLIR’s Thermal Studio Pro Software (NOT included). He/she can add as many inspection points as necessary which are organised to ensure maximum efficiency.
