The FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras have a 9Hz frame rate (30Hz versions are available here) and are equipped with 640 x 512-pixel thermal sensor. They have been designed for capturing aerial, radiometric thermal images, as well as accurate, non-contact temperature measurements, and, to this end, can be used with a variety of drones and sUAS.

The FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras are available in three models that differ in regards to their lens sizes and, subsequently, their fields of view; please see the table below for further details.

As these instruments have been optimised for use with drones, they are able to support MAVLink integration and their image settings have been programmed for aerial operations. Further to this, the FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras can be operated using PWM inputs and/ or FLIR’s Vue Pro App. Via the FLIR Vue Pro mobile app, the user can adjust recording and control settings; camera functions can be altered using PWM inputs.

Captured media may be saved to the onboard micro-SD card. Real-time thermal footage is recorded in a MOV format and thermal images may be saved in a 14-bit TIFF format. Alternatively, radiometric thermal images may be saved as radiometric JPEG files thereby ensuring that the accurate, calibrated temperature information embedded in each pixel is retained.

As the FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras are compatible with FLIR’s Tools Software, recorded media can be used to create reports. Moreover, using this software, images and videos may be subjected to comprehensive post-flight analysis.

In addition to supporting MAVlink integration and compatibility with FLIR Tools Software, the FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras also support a simple analogue video-out/ power-in interface, facilitated by a 10-pin mini-USB connector, as well as field-upgradeability. Field-upgradeability ensures that the FLIR Vue Pro R 640 Radiometric Drone Thermal Imaging Cameras can be continually updated to include the latest features and functions, allowing them to keep up with the evolving demands of the industry. This improves both the longevity and adaptability of these aerial thermal imagers.
