This electronic, hydraulic deadweight tester can be used with a variety of fluids including Sebacate calibration fluid, mineral oil and water. It has been designed to improve the accuracy, practicality and versatility of traditional piston and cylinder deadweight testers. For instance:

  • Weight masses are not required
  • The pressure value can be read in real-time with no need to account for variables such as gravity and temperature
  • Piston and cylinder assemblies do not require changing
  • Not susceptible to significant errors caused by vibrations
  • Minimal pressure increments are not limited by the smallest masses available, making the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester suitable for calibrating analogue pressure gauges as precise nominal pressure values can be set, tested and measured
  • Can be used to perform checks in a variety of measurement units

Additionally, this instrument has a total one-year measurement uncertainty of ±0.02% (±0.025% for two years) which is in keeping with many traditional deadweight testers.

Further to this, the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester includes a single quartz reference pressure transducer which offers a percentage of reading performance from 10% to 100% of device full scale.

The Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester also includes a number of features and functions designed to improve the efficiency of calibration, as well as protect the condition of the device-under-investigation. To this end, it includes an AutoTest function which allows the user to program tests for the electronic deadweight tester to perform automatically; the AutoRange feature can be used to tailor the measurement and safety features to the instrument-under-investigation, and the over-pressure alarm also works to improve the safety of this tester and reduce the possibility of calibration errors and/or damage to attached instruments.

Furthermore, the Ready/ Not Ready indicator informs the user as to when it is appropriate to take measurements, again adding to the accuracy and ease-of-use of this tester. Measurements acquired by the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester can be saved to its internal memory. The RS-232 remote interface can be used to communicate data to the user’s PC with Fluke’s COMPASS Pressure Software (NOT included), allowing the user to view data in real-time and create reports.

In addition to this, the RS-232 interface can be used to operate the reference pressure monitor, in the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester, from a computer via ASCII character command strings. Alternatively, this module can be configured via the tester’s front panel display, keyboard and/or OPTIONAL foot pedal. The OPTIONAL foot pedal also facilitates hands-free data collection when the tester is running AutoTests.

Using this instrument it is easy to generate the hydraulic pressure necessary; via the low torque variable volume, the user can create, and make fine adjustments to, hydraulic pressures up to 200MPa. This simple-to-use system requires minimal physical effort. Moreover, the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester includes an integrated priming system which facilitates the user’s ability to fill the tester with the required fluid and purge it of unwanted air, ensuring that all hydraulic pressures are generated accurately. A vacuum fill kit is also included with this tester allowing the user to fill the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester with the fluid of his/her choice.

Further to this, the Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is supplied with a selection of tests station adapters, including 1/8 in, 1/4 in, 3/8 in and 1/2 in NPT, 1/8 in, 1/4 in, 3/8 in and 1/2 in BSP, M20 x 1.5 and M14 x 1.5, ensuring that instruments-under-investigation can be attached easily and without PTFE tape and/or wrenches. Also adding to this instrument’s practicality is its ability to be powered using a rechargeable battery pack (NOT included), making it suitable for use in a variety of environments.

The Fluke 6531-XXX Electronic Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is a rugged, lightweight, comprehensive calibrator ideal for applications in metrology and calibration labs, as well as on production floors and in the field.
