P3031-KGCM2 Fluke P3031-KGCM2 Gas Deadweight Tester 70 kgf/cm2 - Liquid Lubricated  1 to 70 kgf/cm
P3031-PSI Fluke P3031-PSI Gas Deadweight Tester 1000 psi - Liquid Lubricated 10 to 1,000 psi
P3031-KPA Fluke P3031-KPA Gas Deadweight Tester 7000 kPa - Liquid Lubricated 100 to 7,000 kPa
P3031-MPA Fluke P3031-MPA Gas Deadweight Tester 7 MPa - Liquid Lubricated 0.1 to 7 MPa

The Fluke P3031-XXX Gas Deadweight Tester includes a /NPT female port to which a gas supply may be connected in order to create pneumatic pressure. The high-quality needle can be used to make minor adjustments to the pressure created.

In order to ensure that the gas supply is not contaminated, the Fluke P3031-XXX Gas Deadweight Tester includes an oil lubricated piston/cylinder assembly. The gas introduced to the piston/cylinder assembly acts directly on the surface of the oil; this ensures that there is a rate-less transfer of pressure within the tester. The design of this system works to prevent the over-filling of the chamber and the possibility of contamination within the gas system.

HOWEVER; there is a potential for ‘oil-mist’ transfer as there is no barrier between the gas and the oil, making it unsuitable for oxygen service. A version of this tester with an oxygen compatible fluid is available, please call for details.

As indicated above, maintaining the reliability and accuracy of this instrument is at the forefront of its design. To this end, its piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator has been optimised to maintain the deadweight tester’s durability and stability whilst minimising the effects of distortion and thermal coefficients. It has been manufactured in accordance with the highest standards and as such features certified accuracies traceable to international standard laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).

This instrument has a standard accuracy of 0.015% and is supplied with an ISO 17025 accredited calibration certificate and is calibrated in accordance with standard gravity (980.665cm/s²). The standard accuracy can be improved to 0.008% by adjusting the set-up of the tester, for instance, it may be calibrated to the user’s local gravity, thereby accounting for the effect of this localised gravitational pull on the weight masses.

More practically this instrument includes adjustable feet and a mounted spirit level, ensuring that it can be set up in a variety of environments without compromising its accuracy.

In addition to this, the weight masses designed to be used with the Fluke P3031-XXX Gas Deadweight Tester have also been accurately calibrated and include inscribed nominal pressure values relative to the high- or low-pressure piston. These weight masses are also marked with the instrument’s serial number. As pneumatic pressure is created the piston will rise within the cylinder; to counterbalance this upwards force accurately calibrated weight masses are added to the piston. To determine the final pressure, the nominal values marked on each weight mass are added together. For further information regarding this method, please see the video below.

Measuring Pressure with a Deadweight Tester

The weight masses used with this deadweight tester are made from series 3, non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel and may be stored in a rugged weight case with a secure locking mechanism, facilitating safe and secure transportation between worksites.

Also adding to the practicality of this instrument is its removable lid (which also ensures that the deadweight tester can be transported safely and securely between sites) and its test station design with O-rings. This design combined with the supplied 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 NPT and BSP, and M20 and M14 metric adapters and spare seals, remove the need for PTFE tape or wrenches when attaching instruments-under-investigation.

The Fluke P3031-XXX Gas Deadweight Tester – Liquid Lubricated can be used to calibrate a wide range of pressure sensing instruments and may be used accurately in a variety of environments. It is an easy-to-use, reliable, versatile pressure calibrator.
