The Fluke P3111-XXX Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester can be used to calibrate pressure sensing equipment. For a quick introduction to this product, please see the video below.

Measuring Pressure with a Deadweight Tester

This deadweight tester is available in five models with varying pressure ranges and measurement units. For further information regarding these models, please see the table below.

Product Code Product Name  Pressure Range
P3111-BAR Fluke P3111-BAR Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 35 bar 1 to 35 bar
P3111-KGCM2 Fluke P3111-KGCM2 Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 35 kgf/cm2 1 to 35 kgf/cm
P3111-PSI Fluke P3111-PSI Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 500 psi 10 to 500 psi
P3111-KPA Fluke P3111-KPA Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 3500 kPa 100 to 3500 kPa
P3111-MPA Fluke P3111-MPA Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - 3.5 MPa 0.1 to 3.5 MPa

The Fluke P3111-XXX Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is able to generate hydraulic pressure via a high-quality screw press. It also includes a hand-pump optimised to prime the system and accommodate large volume requirements. These features make it suitable for calibrating pressure sensing instruments such as transducers, transmitters, gauges and pressure switches.

As pressure is created the piston rises in the cylinder. Accurately calibrated weight masses are then added to the piston in order to balance this force. Each of the weight masses includes the instrument’s serial number and its nominal pressure value relative to a low- or high-pressure piston marked on its series 3, non-magnetic, austenitic, stainless steel body. In order to determine the final pressure, the pressure values marked on the weight masses added to the piston are combined. For further information, please see the video below.

P3100 Series Hydraulic Deadweight Tester - Video Demo

The piston and cylinder assembly with floatation indicator has been constructed in accordance with the highest standards and as such features certified accuracies traceable to international standard laboratories, such as NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology). This assembly has been designed to limit the effects of thermal coefficients and distortion, whilst maintaining stability and durability.

Furthermore, this tester is supplied with a traceable certificate of accuracy and is calibrated to standard gravity (980.665cm/s²), giving it a standard accuracy of 0.015%. However, it is possible to improve the accuracy of this instrument to 0.008% by making slight adjustments to its set-up, for instance by calibrating it to the user’s local gravity. In doing this, the localised, gravitational pull on the weight masses is accounted for, ensuring that the user is able to conduct more accurate measurements.

The design of the Fluke P3111-XXX Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester also adds to its precision. It includes adjustable feel and a mounted spirit level, ensuring that it can be accurately set-up in various rugged and/or uneven worksites. Furthermore, its test station design with O-rings and supplied 1/8 inch, 1/4 inch, 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch NPT or BSP female adaptors mean that PTFE tape and/or wrenches are not required when attaching most additional instruments. Adding to its ease-of-operation is its clear, acrylic reservoir, which allows the user to see the oil level and quality, and its built-in drain plug that facilitates the easy draining of the mineral oil.

The Fluke P3111-XXX's detachable lid allows the user to transport the deadweight tester easily between sites. In addition to this, weight masses can be stored in a secure weight box with a self-locking mechanism, ensuring that they may also be transported easily, as well as securely and safely.

The Fluke P3111-XXX Oil Hydraulic Deadweight Tester is a sophisticated product optimised for calibrating pressure sensing instruments, accurately, reliably and simply.
