The Kern MTA 400K-1M Sturdy Handrail Scale is ideal for conducting medical weighing procedures. Its design makes it particularly well suited to use in geriatric medicine centres, care homes and other centres for general medicine.

The Kern MTA 400K-1M Sturdy Handrail Scale is approved as a medical device according to 93/42/EEC and may be supplied with an OPTIONAL verification class III.

In order to accommodate for fragile and/or unsteady patients, the Kern MTA 400K-1M Sturdy Handrail Scale includes a robust support structure and large weighing plate at a low height (30mm), allowing patients to access and navigate the scales easily, as well as stand safely and securely. In addition to this, these scales include a Hold function which, when engaged, determines the average weight of the patient over the course of the weighing period, and freezes this value on the digital display. This function provides the medical professional with enough time to attend to the patient before recording the weight value.

Measurements are indicated on the Kern MTA 400K-1M Sturdy Handrail Scale’s large, high-contrast, backlit LCD display unit with two screens, allowing both the patient and medical professional to view the reading.

Via the display unit, the user may also access the BMI function which can be used to determine whether the patient is overweight, underweight or of a ‘normal’ weight.

Further to this, in order to take accurate measurements, this instrument includes a level indicator to ensure that the scale is precisely balanced.

Finally, in terms of its practicality, this scale can be operated using batteries or a mains supply, allowing the user to adapt the Kern MTA 400K-1M Sturdy Handrail Scale to his/her surroundings.
