Kewtech KT64DL Multifunction Tester Details

The Kewtech KT64DL enhances the functions of the original KT64, incorporating new, advanced modes to make installation and testing installations easier than ever before.

Designed specifically for use in the UK, the KT64DL installation tester makes it simple to configure and activate the tests you need thanks to its simple interface. Testing procedures are assigned to a rotary dial on the right side of the tester and are colour coded for ease of use. Tests this multifunction tester can perform are continuity, insulation resistance (at voltages of 250, 500 and 1000V), loop impedance (L-PE, L-PE ATT and L-N/L-L), PSC and specific testing for UK RCDs.

When testing RCDs the KT64DL shows all six results at once on the same screen, making it easier to interpret results (other MFTs often require scrolling through results) and it uses anti-trip technology to carry out full no trip loop testing procedures on all types of RCD.

Kewtech KT64DL Multifunction Tester Key Features

  • Easy to use - the KT64DL includes a straight-forward interface with rotary dial, function buttons, large-size screen and colour-coded testing procedures
  • Best loop performance accuracy when benchmarked against other brands
  • No bangs - the KT64DL continuously monitors live procedures to ensure that safety is maintained at all times
  • UK specific RCD testing - all six results are displayed at once on the same screen
  • Anti-trip technology allows full no-trip loop testing on all types of RCD
  • Specifically designed for the UK market
  • Test button in probe for hands-free activation of testing procedures
  • Lockdown test button
  • Easy PFC and PSC measurements without the need to alter test probe configuration
  • 250, 500 and 1000V insulation tests with auto discharge
  • LED light warning for high voltage output when using insulation testing
  • Memory for test lead resistance compensation
  • Selectable touch voltage
  • Backlit display means the tester can be used even in darkened conditions
  • Auto-test memory for RCD testing with all results shown on one screen
  • Phase-to-phase loop testing possible
  • Compliant with BS7671
  • Continuity testing with auto-null
  • Test leads supplied with GS38 probe tips
  • Auto-null value remembered even when switched off
  • High and low test current loop impedance bypasses all types of RCDs
  • Ramp test for solving nuisance tripping problems

Unreliable

Not bad for for a beginner but if you do a lot of testing you are better of with a Megger, I have one as as a back up but the fact that you have to test ZE and PFC separate really annoys me and it has had to go back as it has started switching between functions all by itself and the same has happened to one that a friend of mine owns, another annoying thing is the neck strap supplied is really thin and cheap it's like having a cheese wire round your neck. All in all I do not recommend this tester.

Great bit of kit at a great price.

Does everything I need and is really simple to use. I later bought their PAT adaptor so I can now use the MFT to do my PAT testing too which saved me £100s on a new tester.

Disappointing probes

Fantastic machine, but find probes a bit thick and difficult to make contact with some terminals. Recommend making tip skinny and retractable. 4mm is allowed but 2mm recomended. The 2 mm is only recommended so I would say make it 4mm.
