Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester – Black, Limited Edition

This black version of the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is a limited edition. It includes all the testing, administrative and practical features present on the standard Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester. It is suitable for troubleshooting and verifying the installation and safety of industrial, commercial and domestic fixed wiring installations and includes all the tests necessary for completing the required electrical certification for these systems.

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester has been optimised for testing low voltage electrical installations in areas with high electrical noise. As indicated in the table above, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is able to conduct full single- and three-phase insulation testing, as well as single- and three-phase RCD tests between 10mA and 1A.

NEW Features

In addition to the tests above, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester includes a number of new features designed to improve measurement scope, accuracy and reliability.

NEW Tests for EVSE RCDs

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester includes automatic test sequences and a 6mA DC test (requires OPTIONAL accessory) for checking the RCDs in electric vehicle charge points.

NEW Non-trip Loop Impedance Technology

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s new non-trip loop impedance technology facilitates several new capabilities including:

Loop impedance testing of 10mA type AC and A RCDs
Non-trip loop impedance tests can be performed in eight seconds
Prevents RCDs from influencing the total loop impedance value

NEW Confidence Meter

The confidence meter is new to the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester and will indicate the degree of confidence in the accuracy of the loop impedance value. As loop impedance measurements are particularly susceptible to changes in circuit noise, the confidence meter can be used to determine and improve the reliability of each measurement: the digital ARC indicates the analytical process, and the measurement is continually monitored and adjusted in reference to the circuit noise.

Display

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester features a large, clear, backlit dual-readout display with a digital/ analogue arc for indicating fluctuating readings. The dual digital readout will show the exact reading and test parameters in parallel, for example, the output voltage used as part of an insulation test will be indicated alongside the resistance value in MΩ.

Readings can be saved to the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s internal memory (capacity for 1000 measurements); they can be downloaded via Bluetooth.

Ergonomic Design

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s ambidextrous design includes TEST and LOCK buttons on either side of the unit, ensuring that it can be easily operated by right- and left-handed users.

Accessing the required feature or function is simple and quick using the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s colour coded function controls. These colour-coded controls also reduce the possibility of selecting the incorrect function or range. Moreover, the absence of complicated and/or hidden measurement menus also contributes to the speed, simplicity and precision of using the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester.

Furthermore, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester includes an automatic test start which is particularly useful for individuals operating the instrument whilst on a ladder and/or when holding probes as the TEST button does not need to be pressed in order to begin measuring.

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester can be hung around the operator’s neck using the included neck strap enabling handsfree usage. Alternatively, the IP54-rated Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester with a rubber over-mould is capable of standing independently, again facilitating handsfree operation.

Additionally, the durable design of the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester ensures that it is resistant to dust and water ingress, making it suitable for challenging, rugged environments.

Safety Features

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester’s EN61010 CAT IV safety rating means that can be connected anywhere within a low voltage network on a single- or three-phase system and ensures that it is able to withstand accidental misuse and voltage transients.

In addition to this, the Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester will issue a visual and audible warning when a hazardous voltage is detected and will halt testing if the detected voltage exceeds a safe level. If a live voltage is detected during insulation and continuity tests, the value of the potential difference is indicated on the display; a warning beep is sounded and testing is stopped when this voltage breaches a safe level.

Battery

The Megger MFT1741+ Multifunction Tester is powered by internal, rechargeable batteries. These batteries take less than four hours to recharge, allowing the user to maximise uptime.
