The Megger MPAC208 Acoustic Imaging Camera detects ultrasonic sound sources. It identifies gas leaks, mechanical wear, and partial discharge without disrupting operations. The camera has a 208-channel MEMS microphone array that captures sounds from 2 kHz to 100 kHz and is integrated with a 13 MP optical camera.
The MPAC208 is ideal for close-up and standoff inspections with a detection range of up to 200 m. To reduce background noise, the camera includes a Focus mode, and it also has SoundScan guidance to direct operators to off-frame leaks. Operational modes include Gas Leak (estimating rate, cost, distance), Partial Discharge (PRPD analysis), and Mechanical (bearing wear, valve leakage, cavitation). Optional thermal imaging allows side-by-side acoustic and thermal visualisation.
Lightweight (1.4 kg), IP54-rated, and powered by interchangeable smart batteries (up to 10 hours), the MPAC208 is portable and versatile for utilities, manufacturing, and renewable energy sectors. The MPAC-V accessory enables field calibration of frequency response, SPL, and microphone alignment.
The MPAC208-IECEx camera provides all the features seen in the standard MPAC208 but is certified for use in Class 2 explosive atmospheres.
