The Ofil DayCor® Luminar Handheld High Definition Corona Camera is the most sophisticated of Ofil’s handheld corona cameras. The Ofil DayCor® LuminarHD’s bi-spectral, UV-Visible camera has been developed using Ofil’s patented DayCor® technology and may be used contentiously without overheating for approximately three hours.
The camera is bi-spectral and solar blind with two channels: UV and visible. It can overlay the visible and UV channels to an accuracy of 1 milliradian, providing the user with a comprehensive image which allows for easy and precise identification of the emitting source. The precision of this camera is further enhanced by its ability to continually switch between optical wide and narrow fields of view. The camera is able to switch between these fields of view in both the UV and visible channels and as a result of this, it is able to offer a powerful zoom.
Moreover,the Ofil DayCor® Luminar Handheld High Definition Corona Camera is able to capture video and still images at 720p. The high definition and high resolution of these images mean that they can be digitally magnified post-capture; allowing the user to clearly and accurately identify electrical faults that have occurred as a result of corona discharges.
The sensitivity of the Ofil DayCor® Luminar Handheld High Definition Corona Camera has been independently verified by RWE Germany; it is able to detect 1pC from 15m and 3.6dBµV (RIV) at 1MHz at 10m. In addition to the Ofil DayCor® LuminarHD’s image capture capabilities and UV sensitivity, it is also able to record and display the value and severity of the detected corona.
Footage and images captured using the Ofil DayCor® Luminar Handheld High Definition Corona Camera can be saved, with additional metadata detailing GPS, ambient conditions, audio and text notes, to the removable micro flash card. Automatic exportation of these images and videos is made possible via the Ofil’s coronaWise software, and streaming to external monitors is facilitated by Wi-Fi, Ethernet and Bluetooth connectivity.
Alternatively, media may be displayed on the Ofil DayCor® LuminarHD’s adjustable, TFT, LCD display. The design of this display ensures that it remains easy-to-read in all light conditions. The intuitive, pictorial navigation is also viewable via this display and makes operating the camera, as well as adjusting optional features, quick and easy. The large, illuminated function buttons also provide easy access to commonly-used features when wearing work gloves.
Adding to the Ofil DayCor® Luminar Handheld High Definition Corona Camera’s ergonomic design is its built-in LED torch which ensures that the instrument remains operational in dark conditions.
It has also been optimised to be easy to grip; includes a rechargeable battery and can be remotely operated.
