The Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera can be used to detect faults associated with partial discharge in high voltage and medium voltage electrical systems. It is a portable, handheld, non-destructive UV corona camera featuring patented DayCor® technology. It can be used for the following applications:
- Factory acceptance tests
- Quality analysis of motors and generators
- Testing manufactured components which are believed to be corona free
- Routine maintenance

Using its UV and visible channels the Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera can be used to capture real-time images of corona and arcing sparks, allowing the user to identify their source. UV images and visible images can be overlaid to an accuracy of 1 milliradian. The Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera also offers a visible zoom and UV magnification, ensuring that the user can precisely identify and pinpoint corona findings.
Images can be viewed on the corona detection camera’s 600nit backlit, 4.3-inch, transmissive, LCD display. It has a resolution of 800x480 pixels ensuring that the user is able to see all the detail captured by the UV and visible camera channels.
The Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera’s backlit display also makes it suitable for use in dark environments. The practical, versatile design of this camera allows it to be tailored to an array of conditions. The inclusion of an integrated LED torch with two brightness levels ensures that this instrument can be used safely in dark or low-light environments. It also makes the inspection of cabinets and motors easy.
This product can also be set to various operation profiles allowing the user to adjust the instrument to his/her needs or surroundings. Its intuitive, icon-driven menu makes it easy to select between these profiles and can be operated using a single finger. The ergonomic Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera is also lightweight (0.9kg), adding to its practicality and convenience.
The videos and photos captured using the Ofil Daycor® Scalar Indoor Corona Detection Camera can be saved to the removable flash card and can be viewed on either the camera’s LCD screen or an external monitor (a mini USB drive is needed for this).
