*** Please note this is a new product scheduled for release in summer 2020. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. ***

Like its sister product, the Pulsar Thermion XM38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a frame rate of 50Hz and is equipped with a 320 x 240-pixel microbolometer sensor with a 12µm pixel pitch. Like its sister product, it is a premium thermal imager in a traditional-style, aircraft-grade 30mm-tube and is optimised for professional hunters; this model differs in regards to its horizontal field-of-view (4.4°) and its extended detection range (2300m) and magnification range (5.5 to 22.0x). For a quick introduction to Pulsar’s range of Thermion IR Riflescopes, please see the following video.

Thermal Imaging Technology

In addition to the aforementioned sensor, FOV, detection range and magnification range, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is equipped with a range of IR imaging features designed to improve image clarity and enable the user to focus on the details most relevant to him/her.

For instance, in addition to traditional White Hot and Black Hot colour palettes, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope features Red Hot, Rainbow and Ultramarine designed to show the difference in intensity across an animal’s heat signature. Moreover, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope includes Violet, Red Monochrome and Sepia which reduce eye fatigue and allow the riflescope to be used comfortably over long periods.

The Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s full-colour, HD AMOLED display ensures that images are vividly coloured, highly contrasted and sharp ensuring that the user can clearly identify animals, animals’ extremities and environmental features such as branches, leaves, grass and terrain. Like the digital magnification (which also improves focus), this display provides the user with a greater awareness of his/her surroundings and improves the ease of target identification. Additionally, AMOLED technology conserves power.

The colour palettes, digital magnification and display improve focus and target identification, the Picture-in-Picture mode is particularly useful when determining precise shot placement. This mode will magnify a specified area (10% of the FOV) of the image and will display the magnified area in a box at the top-centre of the display. This allows the user to focus on particular details without losing the overall FOV.

In addition to this, it is possible to save up to five zeroing profiles with ten distance coordinates in each one allowing the user to adapt the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope to suit the application. This feature enables quick rifle change-outs and in-the-field adjustments.

Ergonomic and Easy-to-use

Also adding to the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope's physical ease-of-use is its ability to be mounted to standard 30mm scope rings without using specialist tools ensuring that it can be easily added to and removed from a variety of rifles. Moreover, as the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is recoil rated up to .375, 2-gauge and 9.3x64 it is suitable for use with larger calibre rifles.

Furthermore, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is compatible with a range of reticle options. It is compatible with scalable ballistic-style reticles, as well as reticles of various colours: black, white, red and green.

In terms of its interface, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s settings and functions are easily accessible via the three-button operating system.

Wi-Fi Capabilities, Pulsar Stream Vision App and Image/Video Streaming

In addition to operating the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope via its three-button interface, this IR riflescope can be controlled remotely via the user’s smartphone, the Pulsar Stream Vision App, and Wi-Fi.

Additionally, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s Wi-Fi capabilities and compatibility with the Pulsar Stream Vision App allows the user to transfer and/ or stream thermal images and videos to his/her smartphone.

IR images and videos can also be captured and saved to the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s integrated 16GB memory. Thermal images are saved as .jpg files, thermal videos are saved in a MPEG-4 format; the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is capable of storing thousands of infrared images and hours of thermographic videos.

Longevity, Practicality and Durability

As well as supporting the Pulsar Stream Vision App, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has been designed to be compatible with future Pulsar software. As a result, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is futureproofed as it will be able to support new features and functions optimised to improve its performance.

In terms of its physical longevity, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is housed in a lightweight, rugged, reinforced, all-metal housing. It is IPX7 certified ensuring that it is resistant to various types of precipitation including snowfall and heavy rain; it will also remain functional even after submersion in up to three feet of water for thirty minutes.

Further to this, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is equipped with a dual battery system including an internal battery and external battery. This increases the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s operating time. The external battery can be easily accessed and replaced.

Moreover, the Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s instant start-up also works to preserve its battery life as it means the infrared riflescope can remain switched off until it is required as its quick start-up ensures that the user will not miss the target.

The Pulsar Thermion XM50 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is a premium, practical and professional IR riflescope.
