Designed for professional hunters, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope offers premium thermal imaging in a traditional-style, aircraft-grade 30mm-tube. Please see the video below for further information regarding Pulsar’s series of Thermion Infrared Riflescopes.

Thermal Imaging Technology

The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a 640 x 480 microbolometer sensor with a 17µm pixel pitch; this combined with the high-quality germanium optics equips the IR riflescope with a detection range of 1350m. It is able to detect heat signatures across this distance during the day and night.

The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a horizontal field-of-view of 16.3° and a magnification range of 1.5-12.0x. The digital magnification/ zoom allows the user to improve the focus and thereby facilitates improved target identification.

Also helping with target identification is the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s full-colour, HD AMOLED display which provides sharp, high-contrast, intensely coloured images. The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is suitable for identifying animals and animals’ extremities, as well as environmental features such as branches, leaves, grass and terrain. Additionally, AMOLED technology provides power savings.

The user is able to select from a range of colour palettes optimised for various applications. In addition to the standard White Hot and Black Hot colour palettes, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope includes Red Hot, Rainbow and Ultramarine colour palettes for indicating the degree of intensity across an animal’s heat signature. Additionally, Violet, Sepia and Red Monochrome are ideal for when the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is to be used for prolonged periods as these colour palettes reduce eye fatigue.

The digital magnification, full-colour HD AMOLED display and colour palettes all aid in the identification of targets, while the PIP mode is useful when determining precise shot placement. The Picture-in-Picture mode can be used to magnify a particular section of the image (10% of the FOV) without losing the overall FOV. The highlighted area is indicated in a box at the top-centre of the display.

Other functions present on the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope include the ability to save up to five zeroing profiles each containing ten distance coordinates. As a result, it is possible to adjust the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope in the field and quickly perform rifle change-outs.

Wi-Fi Capabilities, Pulsar Stream Vision App and Image/Video Streaming

In addition to saving zeroing profiles to the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope, it is also possible to store thermographic images and videos to this IR riflescope. The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope has a 16GB memory and is able to accommodate thousands of images and hours of footage. IR images are saved as .jpg files and IR videos are saved in a MPEG-4 format.

It is also possible to transfer and stream IR images and footage to a smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi and the Pulsar Smart Vision App. Similarly, using the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s Wi-Fi connectivity and the Pulsar Stream Vision App the user can access the IR riflescope’s settings and functions remotely from his/her smartphone or tablet.

Easy-to-Use and Ergonomic

The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is equipped with a simple user-interface consisting of three buttons.

It is also simple and easy to attach the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope to a variety of rifles as it can be connected to 30mm scope rings without using specialist tools. Moreover, its recoil rating of .375 H&H, 2-gauge and 9.3x64 makes it suitable for use with large calibre rifles.

In addition to this, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is compatible with a range of reticle options including scalable ballistic-style reticles and reticles in various colours (black, white, red and green).

Longevity, Durability and Practicality

This adaptable, easy-to-use, premium infrared weapon scope is also optimised for physical, operational and technological longevity.

In regards to its thermal technology, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is able to support future Pulsar software with new features and functions designed to improve performance, ensuring that it is able to keep up with new developments in the field of Pulsar IR riflescopes.

Furthermore, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope includes a number of features designed to ensure that it remains operational for prolonged periods. For instance, it is equipped with a dual battery system consisting of an internal and external cell which extend the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s operating time. It is easy to access and replace the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s external battery.

Additionally, the Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope’s instant start-up means it can be left off until the moment it is required thereby conserving battery power and extending the riflescope’s operating time.

More practically, the lightweight Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope is housed in a rugged, reinforced all-metal casing making it suitable for challenging outdoor environments. This thermal imaging weapon scope is also IPX7 certified and waterproof ensuring that it can be used in all seasons as it is resistant to damage caused by snow or heavy rainfall. The Pulsar Thermion XP38 Thermal Imaging Weapon Scope will also remain functional even after submersion in three feet of water for thirty minutes.
