The Fluke 2384-T is a spare smart (INFO-CON) connector for use with the 1523 or 1524 Reference Thermometers and is recommended for noble metal thermocouples such as Type S and Type R. The thermocouple connector supports reference junction compensation (RJC) with its internal precision thermistor.
Calibration coefficients for the thermocouple may be programmed directly into the dedicated connector using the 1523 or 1524, an RS-232 connection to a computer, and free software that comes with 1523/24. When connected to the 1523 or 1524 the displayed temperature will be calculated from the unique thermocouple calibration coefficients.
