Sauter DB Torque Gauges – Choice of Model

Sauter DB Torque Gauges are digital torque meters available in four models that vary in regards to their measurement ranges; for further information please see the table below.

These Sauter DB Torque Gauges have been optimised for testing torque wrenches, electric hand screwdrivers and cordless screwdrivers. To this end, they feature a torque pick-up system for the dynamic testing of electric screwdrivers and can be used to perform torque tests in both directions of rotation. Their anti-slip rubber feet ensure that they remain steady throughout testing and their metal casing ensures that they are suitable for use in harsh, industrial worksites.

Measurements are indicated via the Sauter DB Torque Gauges’ backlit, LCD, graphic display. Via this display, the user can view the numerical reading, as well as a capacity bar designed to indicate the remaining measuring range.

Readings can be saved to the Sauter DB Torque Gauges’ internal memory. These instruments have the capacity to save up to 500 measurements; saved information can be downloaded to a PC using the USB and RS-232 interfaces and Sauter’s OPTIONAL compatible PC software programs (see ‘Accessories’).

In addition to this. the Sauter DB Torge Gauges feature a number of measurement functions that allow the user to tailor the instruments to the application, thereby ensuring that the most relevant measurements are acquired. The measurement functions available on these models include:

• Peak Hold: retains the highest measurement detected
• Track: continually updates the measurement indicated on the display
• Alarm: program upper and lower limits, if either limit is breached the gauge will issue an audible and visual alert
• Statistics: data such as the average value and standard deviation can be calculated using this function

In addition to this, the user can switch between measurement units at the touch of a button, again adding to the adaptability, ease-of-use and efficiency of these instruments.

Also improving this instrument’s adaptability is its capacity to be powered using a mains supply and the mains adapter, or via the integrated battery pack. The integrated battery pack is able to supply the unit with up to 18 hours of operational time (provided the backlight is switched off). The Auto-Off function also works to ensure that the battery life is preserved.
