The Sauter Leeb–HK Series Hardness Testers are premium durometers designed to test the hardness of metals including assembled machinery, die cavity of molds and heavy work pieces.
These hardness testers can also aid the user in carrying out material identification and failure analysis procedures. The Sauter Leeb-HK Series’ LCD backlit display, compact size and automatic compensation function, enabling 360° measuring, means that these products are easy to handle and can be used to carry out testing in visually challenging and/or tight spaces.
Mobility, flexibility and ease-of-use are at the forefront of the HK Series’ design. These products are able to automatically identify the impact sensor being used and so eradicates the need for re-calibration. Along with the seven types of impact sensor including an external Type-D sensor, the HK Series features five measurement values and all measurement are automatically converted into required hardness units. The measurement values featured on the HK Series are:
- Rockwell (Type A, B, C)
- Vickers (HV)
- Shore (HS)
- Leeb (HL)
- Brinell (HB)
HB values of cast steel can be taken directly when the D/DC impact sensor is used. Furthermore, the HK Series internal memory can store up to 600 data groups and uses 32 values per group to form the average; these recordings can be transferred to the user’s PC using the USB interface.
Furthermore, the statistics function on these products can be used to determine and display the measured results, subsequent average value, as well as the impact direction, date and time. In addition to this, the HK Series also contains a feature whereby the user can set the upper and lower measurement limits and, when these limits are transcended, the Sauter Leeb–HK Series Hardness Testers will issue an audible and visual alarm.
