Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges – Choice of Model

The Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges are available in four models that differ in regards to their measurement ranges and suitability for measuring various coatings.

All of the above models feature dual scales. PLEASE NOTE the Sauter TB 2000-0.1F Digital Coating Thickness Gauge is optimised for applications within the automotive industry and has a precision of 5% of the measured value.

The Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges are optimised for measuring the thickness of coatings on other materials. Type-F instruments are ideal for measuring the thickness of non-magnetic coatings on magnetic metals, for instance measuring aluminium, chrome, copper, rubber or lacquer on steel, iron, alloys or magnetic stainless steel. Type-N instruments are designed for measuring insulating coatings on non-magnetic metals, for example measuring lacquer, paints, enamel, chrome or plastics on aluminium, brass, sheet metal, copper, zinc or bronze. The third type of instrument, type-FN, is able to perform all of the aforementioned measurements.

These instruments are equipped with an external sensor designed for measuring difficult-to-access places. The Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges also feature a Focus function for improving the accuracy of measurements within a defined range. The user is able to adjust the instrument on the locally measured range by a two-point calibration which results in an accuracy of approximately 1% of the measured value.

Measurements can be viewed in a number of user-selectable measurement units: mm, µm and mil. In addition to this, the Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges include a Zeroing function, for ease of operation, and an Auto-Power-Off function for conserving battery life.

Finally, the Sauter TB Digital Coating Thickness Gauges are supplied with a base plate and calibration foils along with a robust carry case, ensuring that they can be used accurately across a number of worksites.
