Sauter's TD 225-0.1US uses ultrasonic waves to exactly measure the thickness of a material.

Including an external sensor (ideal for reaching hard-to-access measurement points), the TD 225 generates high accuracy results within a measurement range of 1.2 to 225mm with sound velocity of 500 to 9000 m/sec. Measurements can be made either in inches or mm.

This product also has a built-in RS232 port to interface with PC (interfacing cable sold separately).
