Sauter TI Manual Shore Test Stands – Choice of Model

The Sauter TI Manual Shore Test Stands are designed for the shore hardness testing of plastics and leather. They are intended for use with Sauter’s HB and HD Hardness Testers (NOT included).

The test stands are available in four models; these models differ in regards to the length of their columns and their ability to perform various hardness tests. For further information, please see the table below.

Please note that the Sauter TI-DL Manual Shore Test Stand features an exchangeable, longer column, allowing it to be used with Sauter’s HD Hardness Testers.

These Sauter TI Manual Shore Test Stands feature a glass base plate providing the user with a higher base hardness and thereby increasing the test stands' accuracies. The base plate can be precisely levelled using the level adjustment; this feature is of particular use when testing inhomogeneous objects.

The Sauter TI Manual Shore Test Stands can be operated in the following way:

1.)    Fit a Sauter HB or HD Hardness Tester

2.)    Place the test object on the base plate under the suspended durometer

3.)    Press down the lever to release the test weight; the measuring tip is placed into the test object with its own weight

4.)    Read the measurement

This testing method means that the Sauter TI Manual Shore Test Stands (when used with an HB or HD Hardness Tester) are able to provide the user with a test result that is up to 25% more accurate than other manually operated tests.

Also adding to the accuracy of these instruments is their robust design including a lever that can cover the full length of travel in a single movement.
