Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator w/ Digital Modulation

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator is a high-performance synthesised radiofrequency generator suitable for development, test and service work. It features flexible analogue and digital modulation, high-frequency accuracy and stability, a large amplitude range, and low phase noise.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s capacity for digital modulation separates it from its sister product the Aim-TTi TGR2053 RF Signal Generator. Like its sister product, the Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator can be integrated into new and existing systems and is small and lightweight with advanced remote control.

Amplitude and Frequency

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator has a frequency range of 150kHz to 3GHz, a frequency accuracy of 1ppm (<1ppm drift in the first year), and a frequency setting resolution of 10Hz.

It also has an amplitude range of -127 dBm to +13dBm with a setting resolution of 0.1dBm. The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s amplitude can be set in dBm, dBµV or linear volts.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator provides high signal purity; it has a low phase noise: <-117dBc/Hz (typical) at 1GHz output and 10kHz offset.

Analogue Modulation

The integrated DDS generator provides Sine, Square, +Ramp, -Ramp and triangle waveforms that can be applied in AM, FM or PM forms at frequencies ranging from 1mHz to 1MHz.

Furthermore, the Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s MOD in/out enables external analogue modulation to be applied to carrier waveforms.

Digital Modulation

Similarly, digital modulation can be applied to carrier waveforms via the MOD in/out. The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator supports FSK, GFSK, MSK, HMSK, 3FSK, 4FSK, PSK, ASK and OOK digital modulation.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s digital modulation includes advanced filtering such as gaussian, raised cosine, root raised cosine, grey code and binary encoding. It also includes integrated NRZ patterns including square wave, 7, 9, 11 & 15-bit PRBS.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s digital modulation can be triggered internally, externally, manually or remotely.

Internal Modulation Pattern

Due to the inclusion of an internal pattern generator, patterns can be created and used to modulate carrier signals.

It is possible to input uniquely tailored patterns of up to 16384 states via the front panel; alternatively, they can be imported via a USB flash drive or a digital interface.

Storage

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator has the capacity to store modulation patterns, sweep lists, and up to 1000 complete setups. It has a 4GB internal memory.

Flash Drive

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator features a front-mounted USB flash drive port through which modulation patterns, pre-defined complex setups and sweep lists can be uploaded.

Sweep Functions

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator includes two sweep functions: List and Step. This enables a full range of input conditions to be tested using signals of varying frequency and amplitude.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s sweep tests can be run as a single sweep or in a continuous loop prompted by an internal, external or manual trigger. Support for complex sweep triggering allows the user to control complete sweeps and/or every point within the sweep. The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator has a sweep settling time of 5ms.

The Step Sweep function can be used to create sweep tests according to a formula over a specified number of points (2-1000). The user needs only specify the start value, stop value and the dwell time following SYNC at each point. Step sweep tests can be run in either direction with linear or logarithmic spacing.

Alternatively, the List Sweep function can be used to analyse responses and amplitude dwelling at set frequencies/ values. The List Sweep function is ideal for testing known problematic frequencies within a setup. List sweep tests can be created directly on the Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator or can be downloaded via the remote interface.

Graphic User Interface (GUI)

Key information is displayed alongside readings on the 4.3-inch, colour, touchscreen LCD. All measurement parameters are easily accessible via the menu screen and can be edited using the touchscreen display or using the hard keys and rotary knob.

Ergonomic, Easy-to-Integrate Design

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator’s SCPI compatibility means it can be integrated into existing systems using a universal SCPI command set. Additionally, it can be used to upgrade existing systems currently using Aim-TTi’s older TGR2050 and TGR1040 models.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator includes USB and LAN (LXI) interfaces through which it can be programmed. It also features an integrated IVI-COM/ IVI-C driver for Windows which supports high-level applications such as LabView, LabWindows and Keysight VEE.

Finally, the Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator is small and lightweight. It can be rack-mounted using an OPTIONAL 2U 19” rack mount.

The Aim-TTi TGR2053-U01 RF Signal Generator is a versatile, ergonomic and easy-to-use synthesised radiofrequency generator.
