Specifically designed to be able to check insulation on rotating machinery that have a power supply higher than 12kV, the Chauvin Arnoux CA6555 Megohmmeter Digital with Carry case Leads and Software is highly adaptable and is fully in compliant with the IEEE 43 safety standards. These guidelines recommend that insulation testers work between 5 and 10kV.
This digital megohmmeter comes with a very wide range for measuring: between 10 kohm and 30 Tohm, making is usable in many situations. The maximum charging current it can have is 5mA. As well as being an insulation tester this product can also conduct both fixed and programmable tests for voltage within the range of 40V and 15kV.
Ratios for DAR, Pi, DD and DR (ppm/V) are automatically calculated when tests are being conducted. For the user’s convenience, Chauvin Arnoux have included several different test modes that can be selected such as “I-limit”, step with “burning”, “early break” and voltage ramp modes.
As a way of ensuring that the measurement stability is optimised, Chauvin Arnoux has included three filters. The large LCD screen not only has a bar graph and digital display, but it also shows graphs for the R (t), U (t), I (t) and I (u) curves. Reference temperature is used to calculate the value of R.
This digital megohmmeter can store up to 80,000 readings inside its system, which the user can then transfer onto their computer for report generation using the included software.
