About Clamp Adaptors

The clamp adaptor differs from a normal clamp meter - these instruments are not generally made for reading by themselves but are designed instead to interface with electrical testers such as multimeters to enable them to perform current measurements.

They come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes ranging from ultra-compact for fitting inside electrical cabinets to large sizes for measuring multiple conductors simultaneously or fitting around larger wires. Adaptors can also be made of flexible materials, allowing them to be bent around an application that simply wouldn't be possible when using a clamp meter.

It is important to note that not all clamp adaptors will work with all equipment - please read the description for which tester(s) the clamp you're looking at might be suitable.
