The completely redesigned Fluke 1550C provides unparalleled digital testing of insulation up to 5kV, making it the ideal choice for everything from simple spot checks to timed and breakdown testing of a wide range of electronic equipment including switchgear, motors, generators, and cables. This portable device couples insulation testing up to 5000V while using a PC interface to provide up to 99 storage slots for instantaneous measurement recall. The measurements can then be downloaded to a Windows based computer using the provided Quicklink 1550 software and cable.
Practical applications and features of this device rival those of higher-end testers, including ramp voltage measurements for breakdown testing, a timer with a dielectric absorption, and even the ability to conduct leakage current tests alongside capacitance tests.
The 1550C prides itself on its user friendliness not only functionality, but in ease of use as well. The large analog/digital display shows provides feedback with easy to read analog bar graphs and digital measurements for fast, accurate readings.
The simple interface allows for metered testing of insulation resistance up to 1 tera-ohm with four output voltages: 500V, 1000V, 25000V, and 5000V. A built in safety measure has been incorporated that instantly notifies the user if any current is present by providing a voltage reading up to 600V in either ac or dc.
