HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool

The HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool is a heavy-duty fuse receiver that can be used to install and remove a majority of cutout type overhead fuse links in overhead distribution systems. This tool is ideal for line crews requiring a method to speedily and safely install and remove the aforementioned fuse links.

The HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool’s receiver is slotted down one side to enable clearance of the fuse link ring. Additionally, this tool features a corrosion-resistant switch hook and a universal spline for standard hotstick attachment.

The HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool provides increased safety and control during the installation and removal of fuse links. This instrument eliminates the possibility of falling fuses.

Installing a Fuse Link

As mentioned above the HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool’s receiver is slotted on one side, this maintains the fuse link's orientation making it quicker and easier to install onto the cutout trunnion. In addition to this, the HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool’s open cylinder allows the user to align the FT-1 Fuse Tool with the fuse link, again improving the ease and efficiency of the installation as well as the removal of overhead fuse links.

Removing a Fuse Link

The HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool’s receiver holds the fuse link in place while it is being dislodged and removed from the cutout trunnion. This reduces the possibility of dropping the fuse link during removal.

Additionally, the HD Electric FT-1 Fuse Tool's switch hook can be used to secure/ shut-in fuse links.
