The HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester can be used to prove that the HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe is operating correctly. The HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe should be tested before and after each application.
The HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester supplies a low AC voltage signal to the VP-1 Voltage Probe via its metal electrode. The HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe’s metal tip is held to the HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester’s metal electrode and the Proof Tester’s ‘ON’ button is pressed to begin testing.
If the HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe is functional the PT-VP Proof Tester will indicate this via a red LED. Additionally, when the HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe detects the AC voltage signal issued by the PT-VP Proof Tester its red LED will illuminate and its beeper will sound.
Please note that both units should be handheld throughout testing. The user’s hands are an integral part of the test circuit; therefore, hand placement can affect results.
The HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester is powered by a 9V lithium or alkaline-type battery. When the HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester’s red light is not on this indicates that the battery should be replaced.
The HD Electric PT-VP Proof Tester is an easy-to-use, efficient and ergonomic proving unit optimised for checking the HD Electric VP-1 Voltage Probe.
