HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detectors

The HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector is a portable, personal, practical high voltage detector suitable for identifying and alerting individuals to the proximity of electrical fields and energised electrical equipment. It is ideal for protecting the safety of line crews, storm restoration workers and first responders working to restore power quickly during emergencies.

When the HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector identifies an electrical field or energised electrical equipment it will issue an audible and visual alert. The closer the user gets to the electrical source, the more frequent the alerts become. The typical initial warning distance from a 4kV AC conductor is approximately seven feet (2.13m); initial warning distances increase as voltages increase.

To ensure that the HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector is functioning correctly it includes an integrated self-test and a low battery indicator. The HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector is powered by a field-replaceable 9V battery.

The HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector is lightweight and encased within a rugged, protective housing. This instrument is available in several kits all of which contain a carrying case lanyard which can be worn around the user’s neck and may be adjusted to ensure that the HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector is carried at mid-chest height: the optimum position for detecting proximity to high voltages.

There are two types of carrying case lanyard available: the standard C-10 version (black) or the fire-resistant, high-visibility C-10FR version (green). Both the C-10 and C-10FR Carrying Case Lanyards are electrically shielded and effectively switch off the HD Electric V-Watch Personal Voltage Detector by preventing electrical fields from reaching these units when they are zipped-up inside these cases.
