Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser

The Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser can be used to determine the moisture content and/or dry content of various materials using weight measurements.

The Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser has a maximum weighing range of 110g, as well as a moisture range of 0-100%, and dry content range of 100-0%. It features a large, backlit, graphic display with a digit height of 14mm via which the user can view the measurements. The display is able to indicate the following parameters simultaneously:

• Current moisture content (%)
• Current temperature
• The previous drying time
• The selected active switch-off criteria
• The selected active heating profile
• The active drying process

The latest moisture content reading is held on the display until it is replaced by a new measurement. It is also possible to change between moisture content, dry content, and weight measurements and units at the touch of a button, allowing the user to tailor the Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser to his/her requirements.

Moreover, with regards to the switch-off criteria, the user is able to set the Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser to turn off automatically when a weight loss of 2mg is detected during a period of 45s. Alternatively, it can be set to switch off after a specified time, the user can select a time between 3 minutes and 99 minutes and 59 seconds (times are available in 10s increments), or it may be turned off manually at the push of a button.

During the moisture analysis process, the user can view his/her sample via the observation window. The Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser is supplied with fifty sample plates. The sample is dried in a 400W, halogen-quartz, glass heater with a temperature range of 40°C to 199°C and three drying modes:

• Standard
• Gentle
• Rapid

Up to fifteen automatic sequences for complete drying processes can be saved to the Kern DAB 100-3 Moisture Analyser’s internal memory; it is also possible to save data for five completed drying processes to the memory. Alternatively, data can be printed via the RS-232 interface and one of Kern’s compatible printers (NOT included). Data is printed with the date and time.
