A DAkkS calibration is the German equivalent of a UKAS calibration; as such it ensures compliance with European standards and is internationally recognised.

If these scales are intended for commercial use the Kern MIII verification is essential, as this check ensures that the balances meet standards specified by the EU directive 2014/31/EEC. An MIII verification is required if the scales are to be used within EU member states in the following capacities:

• Using weight to determine the price of a commodity (as in commercial trading)
• Manufacturing pharmaceuticals in pharmacies
• Analysing pharmaceuticals in pharmaceutical and medical laboratories
• As part of medical applications
• In any official capacity
• During the production of pre-packaging

The Kern FXN-M Bench Scales are battery-operated, compact, stainless steel scales optimised for use in kitchens, sales offices and laboratories.

The stainless-steel construction of the balances’ housing and weighing plates ensures that their surfaces are smooth and easy-to-clean. These hygienic scales are also HACCP complaint making them suitable for applications across food industries.

Moreover, their robust construction and IP68 protection make the Kern FXN-M Bench Scales ideal for use in harsh ambient conditions; plus they may be submerged in water without sustaining damage. The Kern FXN-M Bench Scales also feature recessed grips on their undersides, ensuring that they are easy-to-transport.

Adding to the practicality of the Kern FXN-M Bench Scales is their large, backlit, LCD display with a digit height of 25mm. The Kern FXN-M Bench Scales are efficient; they will determine and indicate a steady weight, via their displays, within two seconds. The user can set the Kern FXN-M Bench Scales to display measurements in his/her preferred measurement unit.  

The Kern FXN-M Bench Scales feature a number of weighing functions including:

• Piece counting mode
• Weighing tolerance function: this feature is supported by a visual and audible signal; it is of particular use when portioning, dispensing or grading

These scales also feature an Auto-Off function which works to extend the Kern FXN-M Bench Scales’ battery life to up to 500 hours (provided the scales are used with the backlight off).
