Martindale BZ820-EV EVSE Socket Tester

The Martindale BZ820-EV confirms the safety and wiring integrity of Type-2 electric vehicle charging points. It can detect an impressive 28 different wiring faults and provides immediate visual and audible feedback. Three flashing green LEDs and a continuous tone confirm correct polarity and voltage supply. Any wiring issues, such as socket polarity or earth faults, are indicated by red LEDs and a warning buzzer.

The BZ820-EV connects directly to a Type-2 EV charging socket and has a CP (Control Pilot) mode slider that allows users to simulate different vehicle connection states:

• Mode A - No vehicle connected
• Mode B - Vehicle connected but not ready to charge
• Mode C - Vehicle connected and ready to charge (used for functional testing)
• Mode E - Simulates a CP signal failure to verify that the charger appropriately blocks charging

LED indicators on the integral plug display the CP signal status and confirm if the line voltage (L1) is present.
