Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter for Electric Vehicle Charger Testing

The Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter can be used with selected Metrel multifunction installation testers to test Electrical Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) in order to verify electrical safety and functionality.

The Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter is able to support the AUTOSEQUENCE® function available on the MI 3152 Eurotest XC, which facilitates the user’s ability to test the entire EVSE charging station (state-by-state) at the push of a button. Please see the video below for an introduction to using the Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter with the Metrel MI3152 EurotestXC Multifunction Tester. 

Further to this, the Metrel A1532 Electric Vehicle Charger Tester is capable of supporting 6mA EV RCDs when used with selected Metrel multifunction installation testers. It is also capable of facilitating EVSE reporting when used with compatible multifunction installation testers and Metrel’s MESM PC Software (NOT included). The Metrel A1532 EV Charger Tester has been optimised for testing Mode 3 EV supply equipment with type-2 connectors. As such it includes a number of design features optimised for facilitating connections between the electric vehicle charging stations and multifunction installation testers:

• Type-2 male plug connector for connecting to EVSE
• Socket output allowing for connections with 1-phase installation testers (Phase 1, Neutral and PE)
• Banana socket outputs for connection to 3-phase installation testers

The Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter also includes features designed to help with testing electric vehicle charging stations, such as:

• Voltage indicators for EVSE output
• Proximity pilot resistance selector for simulating EV cable presence and current rating detection
• Control pilot resistance selector for simulating EV status

The Metrel A1532 EVSE Adapter is ideal for periodically testing private, semi-private and public EV charging stations on-site.
