Each of the Metrel MI2893 Power Master XT Power Analyser’s four voltage channels has a wide measurement range, whilst the four current channels support automatic clamp recognition and on-instrument range selection. It also supports automatic smart clamp detection and smart clamp range selection as well as current clamp auto range selection. It can be used to troubleshoot power quality problems in three-phase and single-phase power distribution systems. It can be used to detect harmonics, phasors, waveforms and transients.
The Metrel MI2893’s power measurements for active, non-active, fundamental, harmonic and load unbalance are compliant with IEEE 1459, while power measurements for vector or arithmetic are compliant with the classic method. Additionally, it will conduct power quality analysis according to EN 50160, IEEE 519 and can be used to capture and record power supply events such as shutdowns, interruptions, swells and dips.
Furthermore, the Metrel Power Analyser can record and monitor inrush currents, as well as display, snapshot and record waveform/ inrush. It is also able to accommodate and record up to seven adjustable alarms.
The Metrel MI2893 Power Master XT Power Analyser’s ability to support recording also makes it suitable for long-term monitoring of single- and three-phase power distribution systems; the general, waveform and transient recorders function simultaneously.
Data is displayed on the large, easy-to-read, graphical display. It can be saved to the 8GB microSD memory card.
Using the supplied PowerView3 PC Software the operator can download data from the microSD card to a computer for analysis and organisation into reports. The PowerView3 Software includes predefined EN 50160 power quality test reports. In addition to this, it can perform data merges, filter recorded results and transfer measurements to other applications such as MS Excel and MS Word. The PowerView3 Software also includes a tool for repairing downloaded results thereby preventing the loss of data during transmission.
To enable easy and efficient use, it features an intuitive main menu with large icons, as well as Quick Set buttons. More practically, it is equipped with colour-coded input terminals and terminal labels (specific to the user’s region). It supports remote communication via Ethernet.
The Metrel MI2893 Power Master XT Power Analyser is a hand-held, three-phase power quality analyser with eight voltage and current channels. There are three kits available, Standard, Euro and Advanced; for further information regarding the items included in each option, please see the ‘What’s Included?’ section.
