About Pressure Gauges

A pressure gauge is a device that measures the pressure in a gas or liquid. Pressure gauges are widely used all over the world in industrial environments because of their affordable price. Gauge pressure is typically used in processes where pressure cannot dip below atmospheric pressure, such as when measuring and controlling tire pressure.

Mechanical pressure gauges utilise an inner tube that is connected to a gear and shaft assembly that works together to move a pointer. When the pressure within the tube surges, the tube uncoils slightly. As the tube uncoils, the motion triggers the gear and shaft system that moves the pointer on the gauge.
