About Comparators & Magnifiers

Comparators provide compact, easy-to-use magnification capabilities that are ideal for a wide range of applications including imaging, inspection, or manufacturing. Comparators consist of a lens mounted upon a wide base that encloses the magnifier's field of view. Comparators rest directly on or over the subject to be viewed, offering significant ease of use over other mounted or stationary magnification devices.

A simple microscope or magnifying glass (lens) produces an image of the object upon which the microscope or magnifying glass is focused. When an object is viewed through the magnifier, dimensions may be measured quickly and accurately from the scale that is superimposed on the viewed object by the reticle at the base of the zoom magnifier.
