Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester Description

The Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is a multifunctional environmental tester with an integrated differential pressure sensor optimised for measuring, monitoring and recording air quality parameters. When used with compatible Testo probes, the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be used to measure the following parameters:

  • Air velocity
  • Volume flow
  • Degree of turbulence
  • Cooling/ heating output
  • CO₂ levels
  • CO levels
  • Air temperature
  • Humidity

PLEASE NOTE that the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s measurement capabilities are dependent on the probes used with it; please see the video below for a brief introduction to the Testo probes compatible with this tester.

Up to three probes can be connected to the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester at any one time: it is able to accommodate one Bluetooth probe, one wired probe and one type-K temperature probe. Each probe is recognised automatically by the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester, removing the need to adjust parameters each time a new probe is connected, thereby improving the ease and efficiency of testing. Moreover, as only the probes need to be sent for calibration, the user can maximise the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s uptime; it is able to remain in continual use.

Furthermore, as the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester includes a differential pressure sensor it is able to determine volume flow via differential pressure and K-factor. Additionally, the user can perform funnel, pilot tube (pilot tube sold separately) and K-factor measurements. The Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester is also suitable for testing fans and filters, in addition to ducts, air/ ceiling outlets, fume cupboards, and air conditioning and ventilation systems, due to the inclusion of a differential pressure sensor.

The Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester features an intuitive interface with clearly structured measurement menus. Using these menus the operator can program the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester to calculate volume flow automatically (he/she need only input the dimensions and geometry of the cross-section), as well as monitor CO and/or CO₂ levels (probe dependent). Long-term, unsupervised monitoring of CO and CO₂ levels can be programmed by entering the required measurement period and intervals.

Magnets allow the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester to be attached to metal/ magnetic surfaces during long-term monitoring applications. Additionally, these magnets enable remote and wireless measurements as the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester can be left in place while the user conducts cable-less measurements at a distance of up to 20m from the unit using Testo Bluetooth Smart Probes/ Data Loggers such as the vane probe and hot wire probe included in this kit. Please see the descriptions below for further details.

The user can view results on the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s large, graphic display; as it is possible to connect up to three probes, it is also possible to view up to three parameters in parallel. Up to 7500 measurement protocols can be saved to the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester’s internal memory.

Data can be downloaded to a PC for further analysis in a CSV file using a USB connection. Alternatively, the operator can print reports on-site using a Testo Bluetooth/ IRDA Printer (NOT included).

Testo Ø100mm Bluetooth Vane Smart Probe/ Data Logger with Temperature Sensor Description

The Testo Ø100mm Bluetooth Vane Smart Probe/ Data Logger with Temperature Sensor can be used with the aforementioned Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester to measure volume flow at air/ ceiling outlets. Furthermore, when used with the included Testo Extendable 1m Telescope with a 90° Angle (see below for an overview of this product), the Testo Ø100mm Bluetooth Vane Smart Probe is able to access and measure hard-to-reach air/ ceiling outlets. Moreover, the Testo Ø100mm Bluetooth Vane Smart Probe can be used with funnels and flow straighteners (NOT included) to test the incoming and outgoing air at plate outlets, ventilation grilles, and swirl outlets.

As the Testo Ø100mm Bluetooth Vane Smart Probe features a universal Bluetooth handle, the user can conduct measurements up to 20m away from the Testo 440dP Air Velocity and IAQ Tester as results are transferred to the Testo 440dP via Bluetooth. The operator can also start and stop tests using the button on the universal Bluetooth handle.  

Finally, the universal Bluetooth handle is compatible with a range of Testo Smart Probe heads, this means the user is able to remove the vane probe head and attach another probe head, such as the hot wire probe head included in this kit.

As the Testo Ø9mm Hot Wire Probe Head is compatible with Testo’s universal Bluetooth handle, results can be transferred wirelessly to the Testo 440dP over a distance of up to 20m via Bluetooth. Moreover, measurements can be commenced and halted using the button on the universal Bluetooth handle.
