Fluke 561 Infrared & Contact Thermometer
Both a contact-type thermometer and an infrared thermometer, the Fluke 561 is suitable for measuring practically any temperature application ranging from hot pipes to simply testing minor surface temperatures in fridges and ducts.
The built-in infrared (IR) technology of the Fluke 561 means that temperature can be measured safely from a distance. Just line up the measurement point using the laser sight, squeeze the trigger and you'll get a reading of the surface's temperature. The 12:1 distance-to-spot ratio allows this thermometer to be used at a distance of 12 inches away from the measurement spot to create a 1 inch point of measurement.
This thermometer is capable of measuring temperature levels from -40 to 550°C (-40 to 1022°F) for use everywhere from extremely cold applications to demanding industrial areas with high temperature. An adjustable emissivity mode is also included to cater for inaccurate measurements that may be caused by shiny materials.
Alternatively the 561 can be used in combination with a type K thermocouple (one included in the standard pack) to measure surface temperatures directly with a higher degree of accuracy.
